Fly when you want to! You can use your Velocity Points to redeem on any Virgin Blue flight – any available seat, any time. After all, Points are pointless if you can't go where you want, when you want.
There are two types of seats you can redeem your Points for:

Reward Seat – these are the lowest prices with limited availability, it's best to book early so you don’t miss out. - Any Seat – gives you access to any seat on the plane. Prices vary depending on the fares available.
How many Velocity Points do I need?
That depends on whether you’re redeeming a Reward Seat or Any Seat. Here’s a guide to the amount of Points you need to redeem for some of our most popular Reward Seats*. But they could be even lower during one of our Redemption Sales!

The Points values shown above cover the cost of the seat only; taxes, fees and surcharges also apply. You can use Points to pay for the total cost of your flight – including any fees – or you can use a combination of Points plus Pay.
Points plus Pay
Points plus Pay gives you fantastic flexibility when it comes to redeeming Points for flights. Now you can use your Points to cover 100% of your flight, including taxes, fees and surcharges!
If you don’t have enough Points for 100% of the redemption booking, you can use some Points and pay for the rest using your credit card (there is a minimum level of Points required for each redemption seat). The Velocity Booking Engine has a handy tool to help you work out how much you’ll need to pay with your credit card based on the amount of Points you want to redeem.
Keep in mind that you don’t earn Velocity Points or Status Credits on redemption flights, including the Pay component of Points plus Pay. So it makes sense to use as many Points as possible for your redemption booking.
How do I book with Points?
It’s easy. Just make sure you have your Velocity Membership Number and a credit card handy, then:
Step 1: Head to the Velocity Booking Engine to check availability and book.
Step 2: Once you’ve selected your flights, the Points value displayed shows the 100% Points required for your redemption seat (including taxes, fees and surcharges). Choose the number of Points you want to redeem, and you’ll see how much you’ll need to pay with your credit card. If you don’t have the minimum Points required, you can go back a step and check availability for another flight.
Step 3: When you’ve got the flight you want, just follow the prompts and complete your redemption booking!
