A. EARNING VELOCITY POINTS ON BLUE HOLIDAYS PACKAGES
Definitions
Velocity Frequent Flyer means the means the loyalty program (as amended from time to time) of Virgin Australia, formerly being Velocity Rewards, which is owned and operated by Velocity Rewards Pty Ltd ACN 116 089 448 as trustee of The Loyalty Trust.
Velocity Frequent Flyer terms and conditions means the terms and conditions applying to membership of Velocity Frequent Flyer, which are published on the Velocity Frequent Flyer website from time to time.
Velocity Frequent Flyer Website means the website located at www.virginaustralia.com/velocity
Velocity Points means the points which may be earned and used by members of Velocity Frequent Flyer.
B. EARNING VELOCITY POINTS ON BLUE HOLIDAYS PACKAGES
- General
a. You may earn Velocity Points when you purchase a Blue Holidays Package and you may redeem Velocity Points to purchase a Blue Holidays Package.
b. You must be a member of Velocity Frequent Flyer to earn Velocity Points.
c. Earning and redemption of Velocity Points will be subject to the Velocity Frequent Flyer Terms and Conditions and these Terms and Conditions where applicable. The Velocity Frequent Flyer Terms and Conditions are published on the Velocity Frequent Flyer Website.
d. Part C of these Terms and Conditions and the Velocity Frequent Flyer Terms and Conditions are subject to change at the discretion of Velocity Frequent Flyer.
For a Qualifying Holiday package booked ex Australia or New Zealand for travel to Australia, New Zealand, Los Angeles, United Arab Emirates and the Pacific Islands, Velocity Points will be earned as follows:
a. minimum of hotel or flights plus hotels components booked, plus any additional ancillary item (car hire, insurance, transfers, activities) purchased at the time of booking
b. the minimum number of nights’ accommodation to qualify as a package is one night;
Each Qualifying Holiday will earn 3 points for each AUD or NZD dollar spent and may only be earned by one member of Velocity Frequent Flyer for each Qualifying Holiday package. Only the first member whose name is on the reservation record as the first nominated traveller may earn Velocity Points.
Virgin Australia domestic and international short haul operated flights purchased as part of a Blue Holidays package will earn Status Credits at the Virgin Australia domestic and international short haul Status Credit earn rates. All other flights are not eligible to earn Status Credits when purchased as part of a Blue Holidays package.
You will not earn Velocity Frequent Flyer Points on supplier direct charges related to the package components but not collected in the initial package price. Supplier direct charges include but are not limited to:
a. Hotel related charges: food and beverages, telephone, laundry, "pay per view" charges and GST.
b. Car related charges: damage liability cover, vehicle registration fee, premium location fee, admin fee, taxes, GST, one way fees, age surcharges, equipment, additional drive fees, baby/booster seats or GPS.
c. Additional taxes, fees and charges, such as GST, credit card fees or call centre administration fees will be eligible for earning Velocity Points as it forms part of the total package value.
d. Velocity Points will be awarded for holiday ‘no shows’ provided the holiday package has been paid for in full.
You will not earn Velocity Points on the package components of Qualifying Holidays, which are provided by suppliers whom already participate in the Velocity program. For example, you will not earn Velocity Points separately for Virgin Australia flights which are included in your Qualifying Holiday.
You will not earn Velocity Points on your purchase of ancillary items sold separately on the Blue Holidays website, which are not sold as part of a Qualifying Holiday.
Only Australian and New Zealand residents can earn Velocity Points when booking with Blue Holidays.
Redeeming Points
Velocity Points’ values shown are correct as at the time of publication and are subject to change without prior notice. Velocity Points may be used by you for (a) redemption of any product or service offered on the Blue Holidays website (other than a Mystery Breaks package), including without limitation a Qualifying Holiday packages or for redemption of a gift voucher to be used at a later time in relation to the booking of a Holiday Package (“Voucher”).You cannot redeem Velocity Points on a Mystery Breaks booking.
All Holiday Packages booked with Blue Holidays are governed by these terms and conditions and all related terms and conditions found on the Blue Holidays website. By using the Velocity Points and/or the Voucher to book a Holiday Package, you expressly acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions and all related terms and conditions.
Under no circumstances shall the use of the Velocity Points and/or Voucher earn any Velocity Points. The Velocity Points and Voucher are strictly non-refundable and non-exchangeable for cash, and is non-transferable. In the event the Velocity Points and/or Voucher has been utilised on a booking of a Qualifying Holiday Package that is later cancelled or amended, the value of the Velocity Points and/or Voucher redeemed shall not be refunded, and all cancellation and amendment fees will still apply. In the event the Holiday Package exceeds the value of the Velocity Points and/or Voucher, you undertake to pay for the difference between the purchase price for the Holiday Package and the value of the Velocity Points and/or the Voucher redeemed. If the Voucher is not used in full when booking a Holiday Package, the unused value of the Voucher will be forfeited. If you quote an incorrect Voucher number during the booking of the Holiday Package, the booking may be considered invalid and Blue Holidays shall not be liable in any manner whatsoever for any loss resulting there from. All Holiday Packages are subject to availability, and seasonal and peak black-out periods may apply. In the event of a ‘no-show’ for a redeemed booking, the Velocity Points or Voucher used will be forfeited, or where applicable, the equivalent of one night’s room rate (ie. the minimum room rate applicable for that date) plus applicable taxes, fees and surcharges will be charged. A charge for a ‘no-show’ will not be eligible to earn Velocity Points, and where the charge is imposed, the Velocity Points or Voucher can be used for another booking so long as it remains unexpired. In addition to the Velocity Points and/or Voucher used for booking of a Holiday Package, you must pay any and all identified surcharges, charges, fees, GST and taxes.
The Vouchers shall strictly be valid for a period of up to 6 months from the date of issue. The Velocity Points and Voucher are not valid for use where payment for the booking of the Holiday Package is required to be made directly to the supplier of the Holiday Package, such as the hotel. Multiple Vouchers may be claimed on a single Holiday Package. The Velocity Points and Voucher cannot be used as payment for any incidental or additional charges accrued as part of your holiday stay, including without limitation, room service, minibar, food and beverages, telephone, laundry, pay per view movies, optional activities or excursions, passports and gratuities (“Additional Charges”). These Additional Charges must be paid by you at time of stay directly to the supplier of the Holiday Package and under no circumstances will Blue Holidays be liable to you or a third party for these Additional Charges. The Additional Charges will not earn any Velocity Points. The Velocity Points and Voucher shall not be transferred or sold after redeemed from Velocity Frequent Flyer, and shall be exclusively used by you only. You shall not tamper with or in any manner modify, alter, deface or damage the Voucher, or act in any manner which would be in violation of these terms and conditions, including all related terms and conditions. Blue Holidays reserves the right to refrain from accepting any Voucher that has been tampered with or which has been modified, altered, defaced or damaged. Blue Holidays further reserves the right to pursue legal action against you or any person who it believes has acted in contravention of these terms and conditions, including all related terms and conditions. Blue Holidays shall not responsible to you or to any other party for compensation as a result of the above-mentioned breaches or any other breach of these terms and conditions, including all related terms and conditions. Blue Holidays reserve the right to amend any part of the terms and conditions, including all related terms and conditions, without prior notice and the decision of Blue Holidays and Velocity Frequent Flyer, shall be final with respect to all matters, queries and disputes concerning the use of Velocity Points and Voucher, and these terms and conditions. Blue Holidays reserves the right to withdraw, cancel, withhold, deny access to, or use of, or in any way change any of the redemption rights advertised, offered to or accepted by you at any time without liability. If you have selected a redemption option which subsequently becomes unavailable, your consent will be obtained for a substituted redemption option. The Velocity Points and Voucher redemption may be subject to applicable laws and regulations, such as personal income or other tax assessment, and you are advised to seek independent advice from your legal, financial or tax advisors.
