You earn Points for each Qualifying Stay at Comfort™ properties throughout Australasia.

For stays in Australia and New Zealand, you earn Points per dollar spent. This includes the cost of the room, plus what you might spend on hotel charges on your individual hotel room bill, including food and beverages, telephone, laundry, "pay-per-view" charges and GST. For stays in Papua New Guinea you earn Points at a flat rate for each Qualifying Stay.

If you need to book more than one room at a Comfort property, you can earn Velocity Points on up to three hotel rooms on any one night, as long as the rooms are used in conjunction with your stay at the same hotel.

How many Points do I earn?

You earn three Points per dollar spent at Comfort properties within Australia and New Zealand; or a flat rate of 1000 Points per stay at Comfort properties in Papua New Guinea.

Earn Velocity Points by transferring Choice Privileges points

If you’re a member of Choice Hotels Australasia Choice Privileges®, you can choose to transfer your Choice Privileges points to your Velocity Membership Account. You’ll receive 3,000 Velocity Points for every 20,000 Choice Privileges points you transfer to Velocity. There’s no maximum limit to the number of Choice Privileges points that can be transferred during one transaction, but you need to transfer in multiples of 20,000 Choice Privileges points.

How do I stay with Choice Hotels to earn Points?

To earn Points on Qualifying Stays in Australian Comfort properties, you’ll need to have your Velocity Membership Card with you so it can be swiped at check-in. In New Zealand and other Australasian hotels, just quote your Membership Number at check-in.

What's a 'Qualifying Stay'?

A Qualifying Stay consists of one or more consecutive nights at the same hotel whether or not you check-in/check-out more than once, at the hotel’s Qualifying Room Rates. Generally, this is the standard room rate that’s not a special discounted package, group or conference rate*.
