How can I fly when I want with Points?

Velocity makes it easy to use your Points to get any available seat. The type of ‘seat’ booked will determine the Points required. There are two types of seats you can redeem your Points for:

Reward Seat – available exclusively to Velocity Members at special rates. While they may need less Points, there’s a limited number available for each flight, so book early to make sure you don’t miss out.

Any Seat – available to everyone. They might need more Points, but as long as a seat is available with your preferred Velocity Airline Partner and flight, you can book it with Points – even during busy times like Easter, Christmas and the school holidays.

Tips to get the best value flight redemptions

Because the amount of Points you need for seats on Virgin Blue, Pacific Blue and Polynesian Blue flights is based on the cost of the fare, the way to get the best deal in Points is the same as getting the best deal when you pay with dollars. So:

• Plan ahead. Seats during popular holiday seasons like Christmas and school holidays tend to go quickly, so you’ll need to book as early as you can to get the best deal using your Points.
• Book mid-week fares. Virgin Blue has great mid-week deals on selected flights and routes if you fly Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
• Book a sale fare. Virgin Blue is always having great sales on fares. So, if it costs less in dollars, it’ll use fewer Points too!
